Unlike the cold and wimpy LED dome lamps you may have seen at the boating stores, this lamp has a 20W equivalent output, and a nice soft-white color. It not only fits the traditional decor, but also puts out warm colored light, similar to an incandescent.
This fixture is made of brass, which is clear-lacquered to prevent tarnishing and scratching. It has a wide angle impact-resistant diffuser lens, which directs the 23-LED 120° emitters for nice even coverage in your cabin or salon. It is meant for overhead surface mounting and comes pre-wired with a bezel-mounted black on-off rocker switch.
Like all Marinebeam products, this contains our Integral Constant-Current chip-set for maximum light output, and 12V/24V capability. If you have tried the cheap boating store LED lamps and were disappointed, or if you are just looking for a great LED lamp that won't break the bank, look no further.

Replaced 4 cabin lights with the red/white stainless finish LED's. Very happy with them. One did not have the switch installed, just the cut-out. I called Marinebeam and as usual a real person answered the phone. They shipped me a new one straightaway, with a return label for the defect enclosed. They also gave me free shipping on another order to make up for it. I've bought several LED cabin lights from Marinebeam, and would recommend them to all!
Great products, and great customer service!
These lights are great. I bought three. Two were used to replace the small circular fluro lights in the heads and one was a new installation in the fwd cabin that only had bunk lights and no overhead light. They provide all the light one could want at a very competitive price compared with the regular LED dome lights from the popular marine stores that just don't put out the same bright light.
My old configuration had dome lights that looked like these but it seemed no two used the same bulb. So I ordered 6 of these to replace nearly all of the old.
Installation is relatively simple with the only problem being that the existing wiring is heavier gage than the new lights. I solved this by stripping a bit more wire from the light fixture and doubling it over. Overall, I'd say maybe 5 min per light to install.
The switching mode between red and white took a little getting used to. When the light is first turned on it defaults to red. To get white one must then turn it off and then back on. Strange I thought until I began to see the advantage. If I get up in the night or go below for coffee the first light I get is red, so as not to blast my night vision. If I want , I have to make a conscious decision. I like it. Also, although I knew these lights would draw less power, I forgot that they give off no heat. Kind of important in the Florida summer.
The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I expected to get a new set of screws to mount the fixture. This meant an extra trip to the hardware store to look for tiny stainless screws.
Overall, I am quite happy with the lights and would recommend them.
I bought two dome lights for my trawler's cockpit. They arrived within a couple of days, same size as my old domes, at a reasonable price. How do you beat that ??
