Product Description
Marinebeam's USCG Certified LED NavLight™ Series 1 Bi-Color.
Tired of changing bulbs and fixtures at the bow due to moisture, corrosion or wimpy output? This super-bright, sealed-for-life nav light is strong, IP-67 submersion-proof, and UV-resistant for a long and dependable life on the bow.
The high-efficiency LED bi-color lamp has red and green LEDs, with a sector angle of 112.5° each, and is for use on the bow of sailboats and power-craft. It can be used in place of traditional sidelights or incandescent bow-lights. These lamps are designed to be mounted on a vertical surface.
Visibility exceeds 2 NM, and the lamp meets USCG and ABYC A-16 standards, and is US Coast Guard Certified (USCG) for use on vessels up to 65 feet (20M). Unlike incandescents, LEDs can deliver light in the actual wavelength necessary to meet the output color requirements. Our matching colored lenses have the aesthetic appeal of traditional lights, while providing super-high transmittance coefficients for maximum output, safety, and visibility --something not possible with full-spectrum incandescents.
Like all Marinebeam products, our LED navigation lights have our integrated internal Constant-Current chipset, so they can operate at voltages from 9-33VDC. This means they are great for both 12VDC and 24VDC applications. This also provides protection from over-voltage conditions, transient surges, and provides for consistent output and safety even at very low battery levels.
Our navigation lamps do not emit RF harmful interference, and are EMC certified to EN55022, EN61547, and EN60945 so they will not interfere with radios, sensitive electronics, or GPS signals. Includes two (2) stainless steel mounting screws, and 8' of duplex 18AWG tinned wiring to allow power connection to be below decks if desirable.
These lamps exceed the performance of the much more expensive Aqua Signal 43 and Hella NaviLED Pro Bi-Color lights,

LED Bi-Color Nav Light
Easy install but mine just failed after nine years. The unit is sealed so is a throw away when it fails. I guess this is the tradeoff to make it more waterproof.

Very bright
The true test of a Nav light is how it will perform on the proverbial dark and stormy night but for now I have to say the unit is very bright. Brighter than the Hella fixture it replaced by a significant margin. The light itself is completely sealed so it is a throwaway if anything goes bad internally. It is likely cheaper to make it that way but I rated it 4 stars because if the lack of serviceability. The plus side of course is the bow takes the worst of wind and waves underway so it should be more weather resistant. My last fixture died from corrosion due to water intrusion so I’m optimistic that a sealed unit will be a better performer. Time will tell but I like what I see.

Foward nav light
Very bright LED navigation light I added to remove a 25 watt incandescent light. Had to drill 3 holes 2 for screws and one for power wire, in chrome plated plate, one suggestion get good drill bits if you need to do that chrome is hard. The light is brighter and uses less power.
