I have installed the LED light to replace all my existing halogen lights. They look great without getting hot. The old halogen lights could not be touched after being on for a half hour. Way less power used.
I like the styling very much: clean, sleek, and contemporary without being look-at-me obtrusive. The touch switches are somewhat fussy, however; they only respond reliably to a certain type of tap. (I had to practice.) They are too bright for the compact cabin of the 21' sailboat I'm building, so I will have to buy a separate dimmer to wire into the circuit.
I ordered the Square Recessed LED Ceiling Lamp with Touch Switch to replace the tired old interior lights from from the late 1990s that the boat manufacturer used then. The styling is very sleek and contemporary and the touch switch is a surprisingly convenient feature -- no more trying to grab a tiny on-off switch in the dark or on a rocking boat. Simply touch the light housing and it pops right on or off. It makes a clean fit and is held snugly in place by mounting springs. Will be changing out other interior halogen lights on my boat for this updated look with all the advantages (reduced power demand, no heat) that come with an LED light.
