We came up with these marine replacement LED bulbs at the special request of Hunter and Lagoon boat owners so they could replace the wimpy 168/194/912/921 automotive style wedge incandescents found in the overhead light fixtures made by Guest Corp. These are found in many Hunter, Lagoon and other sailboats and powerboats (see inset picture at left).
The bulb features 9 SMD LEDs bonded to a thermal clad type PCB, with a wire pigtail connecting to the wedge type connector. This allows for the large martix array of SMD LED's to be centered in the fixture, or aimed in whichever direction you please. A clever solution for this type of fixture.
Did you notice the "blackbox" halfway down the wires? This is the Marinebeam constant-current DC/DC converter chipset which is the key to the 110 Lumens of brightness and its multivolt capabilities from 10VDC - 30VDC
- Voltage: 10V - 30VDC
- Wattage: 2W (0.160 Amps @ 12V)
- Lumens: 110
- Color Temp: 3000k
- Beam Angle: 120°
- Dimensions: 40mm L x 40mm W x 8.5mm D (185mm wire)
- Base Type: T5/T10/T15 Wedge
- Applications: Replaces most glass wedge type bulbs like #168, #194, #912 and #921 found in many overhead fixtures
Marinebeam bulbs feature a proprietary
Constant-Current driver and high-output thermally-efficient multi-emitter SMD LED bonded to an Alumicore engineered thermal substrate. All our bulbs can operate on any polarity, and have a custom EMI suppression circuit to prevent interference with radios, GPS, etc. These features combine to give record setting output, superior efficacy (lumens/watt), and the longest service life possible in an LED cluster.
