Tri-Color Navigation Lamp Replacement LED Bulb

This bulb is manufactured specifically to replace the 25W incandescent bulbs used in 12V and 24V Aqua Signal and Hella tri-Color navigation fixtures mounted atop a masthead which use a BAY15d bayonet bulb. This bulb utilizes three different color LEDs (Red/Green/White), that are indexed into sectors such that the colors align with the appropriate lens colors on your tri-color fixture.

Because a colored lens transmits a like colored light at nearly 100% efficiency, a tri-colored LED replacement offers the highest output through the red/green lenses, far exceeding the transmission possible with white full-spectrum light. The best part is the nearly 85% reduction in current while offering the same output. With this LED replacement the bulb could last as long as 30,000 hours as well.

Of course, the red/green sectors must align with the sector angle of the lamp fixture itself. We do this by indexing the sector zones to the tabs on the indexed BAY15d base used on Aqua Signal, Hella, and most other tri-color lamps.

This bulb has 50 high-output LEDs sealed within a machined aluminum housing, which is double-sealed to meet IP66 ingress protection (waterproof). The aluminum shell serves to dissipate heat, and provide protection. Internal the the housing is our constant-current driver, which protects the LEDs, regardless of input voltage from 10-30VDC. This makes it immune to most voltage drops typical at the masthead due to the long run of wiring or corrosion.

NOTE: The USCG, COLREG and EU test agencies do not approve light bulbs, and can only certify that a specific fixture complete with a specific light source meets the requirements. While our bulbs are the brightest LED replacement bulbs available, and will easily exceed the 15 Candela ISO EN 14744 requirements for 3nm visibility requirement for masthead anchor lights for yachts up to 65 feet, they don't have any sort of certification as stand-alone bulbs, or within any specific fixtures. These bulbs have not been tested in your specific fixtures, and we have no control over how you will use this product. Therefore, it must be the user's decision alone whether to use this product to retrofit existing fixtures which will be used for navigation.
