Festoon Type SV8.5 Bulbs

SV8.5 Festoons are found quite often in boats, RV's and campers, and look a lot like the old glass fuses used in cars. The Festoons have their roots in the automotive world, where they are used quite often in dome lights. Manufacturer's like Hella, Aqua Signal, Perko, and others use festoons in their boat and marine fixtures. The are easily replaced by LED bulbs from Marinebam.

The common types used in boats are:

31mm SV8.5 Cone End (1 ¼") These Festoons are usually low output (5W 12V) and function in small lamps as courtesy lights or floor lamps. Very popular in boats from Jeanneau, Beneteau and others. Our replacement 31mm LED Festoon, P/N FS-31-02 Duce LED is a direct swap for the original festoon bulb.

37mm SV8.5 Cone End (1 ⁷⁄₁₆"): The 37mm Festoon is also a common type found on boats. These Festoons are usually up to 10W (10W 12V)and found in overhead lamps, courtesy lights, and in some stern lamps for small boats. Our replacement 37mm LED Festoon, P/N FS-37-06 TriPower LED is a direct swap for the original festoon bulb.

42mm SV8.5 Cone End (1 ⁵⁄₈" or 1 ¹¹⁄₁₆"): These bulbs are 42mm long, and have cone-shaped contacts on the ends (like picture at right). We see these most often used in overhead interior fixtures. Usually they are surface mount (non-recessed) type fixtures. Our replacement 42mm LED Festoon, P/N FS-42-06 SixPax LED is a direct swap for the original festoon bulb.

44mm SV8.5Cone End (1 ¾"): These Festoons are 44mm long and have cone-shaped ends. These are typically found in exterior applications like navigation, steaming, and anchor lights. The Perko steaming lights use these bulbs, and they are quite popular. Our replacement 44mm LED Festoon, P/N FS-44-30C MiniMax LED is a direct swap for the original festoon bulb.

44mm Barrel End (1 ¾"): This is a 44mm bulb with barrel-shaped contacts on the ends. These are very common in navigation and anchor lights as well, and are most common in the Aqua Signal Series 25 products. Our replacement 44mm LED Festoon, P/N FS-44-30B MiniMax LED is a direct swap for the original festoon bulb.

Rigid Loop Type: Rigid Loop Festoons look just like a 42mm Festoon but have rigid wire loops on each end. These are sometimes used on accessory lamps and cockpit lights, especially from Beneteau and other production builders.
